| Well i no longer have hair! Haha, ok thats not totally true, but i have a lot less then i did about 11 hours earlier. Yesterday one of the girls down the hall decided she wanted to straighten my hair. While she was straightening it she informed me of how dead my hair was and that she wanted to cut it. "Have you ever cut hair before?" "Well no, but i'm sure we could find somebody". Ok, well we'll see.... i go off to class then "after dark" chapel. When i return from after dark, 3 girls come into my room and all start talking about cutting my hair...Now NONE of them had ever really cut hair before and the scissors they found were almost like sewing scissors, well....they were small anyway. Finally i'm like ok just do it! But only take about an inch off (i've been trying to grow my hair out for awhile, i didn't want to set back the progress that much). Well they begin cutting and as the giggling got louder i just covered my face and tried not to think about my poor butchered hair. They finally get to this point where my layers were REALLY uneven and i told them to try and fix it...well by the end about 2-2 1/2 inches had been taken off and so my hair is now shoulder length...straight. I told them it would be a lot shorter once it was curly, so they sent me to the shower to see and sure enough it is pretty short. However, all the girls that saw me gave me reassuriong comments such as "it's really not that short", and "it looks so healthy now" "It's so cute!" ...etc. And i must admit it does feel a lot better, but it's going to take some getting used too, thats for sure. O well i guess it just goes along with the whole college experience....cutting peoples' hair on a whim at midnight! We're dying my friend amy's hair this weekend....should be fun! ;)
p.s. besides hair grows back....
| College life still great! Friday night my dorm floor took a trip to the Jazz festival in Brea. It was a lot of fun! i actualy got to meet some of the girls on my floor and realize not all of them fit the Alpha stereo-type ;) i brought my camera with me and for some reason got into photographer mode. I took pictures of EVERYTHING! People's feet, people holding hands, head shots of random middle schoolers (who practically tore each other apart trying to be in the picture), pictures of people sitting on benches, random pictures of scenery, lots of pics of me and my roommates...etc. So i decided i'm going to get them developed and make a huge collage and stick it on the wall by our room! It'll be really cool..i hope :) The music was good too. It was a band of all girls playing drums, sax, keyboard and electric guitar. There was a big turnout to this thing, but i think my favorite audience member was a little...we'll say 9 yr. old...girl. She was right in front of the stage and dancing, and twirling and leaping all over the place. Apparently she was in some kind of dance class, because eventually another little girl joined her and they did their routine together...very entertaining i must say :) It was a good time! And that night my roommate Kim and I watched the Count of Monte Cristo in the worship building on a projector with some friends...another late night!!
Sunday I spent 3 hours in the library with my roommate, Lorraina doing a seemingly simple library research project for Old Testament and Lit. No complaints though, because that's really the only semi-hard assignment i've had so far. And the day before was spent at Manhatten beach with Lorraina and a friend who came to visit. It is so nice to get out and see the "real world" every now and then. Although it has become somewhat of a shocker to hear people cuss or smoke or just be rude. I've grown so accustomed to the polite, non-smoking, non-cussing people at my school. But that's ok because eventually we will be back in that world and persevering harder than ever to remain pure and innocent. Another eye-opener was looking in stores and seeing the prices of clothing...i really wanted some cute/casual heels, but for $32 they were NOT worth it. So my roommates and I decided we'd make a stop at Savers( a huge goodwill/ thrift store) sometime soon. The price you pay of being a "poor college student" eh? :) I think it's worth it!
Nothing else i can think of for now....just having a relaxing morning until my 1:30 class!
p.s. love you mom!

| Last night was an eventful night in my college career! I heard there was a street fighter tournament (for those of you are as clueless as i was...it is a video game in which you beat someone up until one of you dies...basically). Well i really wasn't planning on going until my friend Philip decided he was going to go compete in it. So i said sure i'll go! I dragged my room mates along with me, and while the guy was asking who would like to sign up...i went to talk to him and found that he had never played either...so i told him i would play if we could play against one another...he agreed! So it finally got to our turn...with a few helpful hints from the guys around i just went at it...mostly pushing as many buttons as possible all at the same time. :) Surprisingly it worked really well and i won! Not thinking this through ahead of time, i got moved up to the next round ..seeing as we were playing a tournament. Well lucky me i get put with the president of the student body! So we started playing.... 1st round, i won...2nd round, he won...3rd round, he won (now i's best out of 2 full rounds) we played again (this time with a large crowd of people around us cheering mainly ME on!) 1st round, i won (everyone was going crazy!)...2nd round, he won, AND 3rd round......he won! ("congratulations you beat a GIRL" they said) it was really quite depressing, but it was really close the entire time so gave everyone some entertainment! :) i also played another guy just for fun who was waiting to play against the final winner and kept beating him....he went on to win the whole thing! They ended up giving me $5 towards itunes...mainly becasue i was the only girl and i did better than expected.
So when all that fun was done and my fingers were numb from clenching the controler so hard and pressing so many buttons...we went outside and saw this group of guys playing various intstruments (3 guitars, drum box, harmonica, egg shaker). They had been out there for awhile and i had really wanted to go listen, but never did...so this time Kim and i finally walked over and pulled up a couple of chairs. They were playing Jars of Clay first, some normal worship songs next, then would just go off on all instrumental tangents and Kim and i just watched in awe. This continued until about 1:45 a.m. and finally one by one we trickled off back to our dorms. I came away with a happy heart, and some new friends...all in all it was the best night yet here at Biola :)
it was especially nice, as i don't have classes on Friday so was able to sleep in until about 10:30. :)
| college life has begun...well i guess i can't really say that until classes start...so dorm life AT college has begun! ;) so far it's been a blast! my roommates rock, i love the way my room is set up, i love my bed which is high, but now safe (thanks to Seth), and most importantly i love being on my own! I'm in Alpha Chi..."castle Anthrax", "the Convent", "Estrogen crockpot of the campus"...etc (you get the picture) we are the only ALL girl dorm on campus. Which i didn't think i would like at first, but it sets us apart, and keeps me out of trouble...? hmm...maybe not ;) but anyway it's fun, i like it. i miss my best friend A LOT, but time apart can be good i suppose...just watch out when she comes and visits me!! we'll terrorize the campus. hmm...lets see, i figured out how to set up our voicemail...or rather picked up a book and read the instructions (i tell ya being literate and tiny bit curious can be really helpful at times) I got my books today....they all look fairly interesting, hopefully the classes will be as well. well that's about it!! | | |
| well i am now 18!! wohoo!! it's about time..that's all i have to say ;) It wasn't a very eventful birthday, but i consoled myseolf with the fact that i was 18 so....goodstuff!
Now i feel like i have big marshmallows stuffed in my cheeks as i just got my wisdom teeth pulled today....so i'm pretty hopped up on drugs...including vicodin....feeling great! except when i try to stand....feel a bit woozey and all my arms and legs get a funny tingling sensation....then a weird dark cloud starts to cumulate in front of my eyes...and i quickly find a place to sit down :)
Eating hasn't been to much of a problem...so far i've downed some strawberry shake, chicken soup, and most important of all...chocolate pudding and ice cream :) mmm...... well anyway i think i shall go my bed beckons to me! Zzzz....
i go to college on Friday!!!
